Dr. Tommy Weir is a renowned speaker, advisor, and author on innovative leadership. Globally recognized as an authority on leading in Fast-Growth and Emerging Markets, Dr. Tommy, has rare insights through working with over 2,000 CEOs and business leaders from around the world, ranging from Fortune 100 companies to newly established corporations in Asia and the Middle East.

He is credited with the breakthrough discovery of Leading and Succeeding in the Emerging Markets, which assists leaders in making sense of complexity, diversity, ambiguity and youthfulness in first generation corporate societies. This work has now found its way into the core practices of leaders and senior teams across the globe.


Dr. Tommy has a rich history of leadership development advising governments and corporations on strategic and future-oriented leadership. He has spearheaded the creation of innovative and award-winning leadership programs. His unique experience of working with over 80 nationalities is a welcome breath of fresh air in today’s diverse and multicultural work environment. He is the author of “The CEO Shift” - a thought-provoking book that explores the new global business environment and challenges corporate leaders to shift their practices in order to survive in a global economy. Since its publication, he has presented “The CEO Shift” in corporations, universities and privately to world business leaders.

Dr. Weir holds a doctorate in strategic leadership from Regent University. He is an expert commentator on leadership and his writings are featured in prominent publications.   His latest book, “10 Tips for Leading in the Middle East” is due for publication in 2012.

Bassem Berbari is known for the leadership journey from people to ideas to innovation. His combination of marketing background, with practical senior leader experience in the emerging markets and keen insightmake him a sought after leadership advisor.

Bassem’s leadership impact is recognized by several global leaders, including Sir Richard Branson and through his selection to Nestle’s19-member global team (code-named ‘CREAM team’) as the sole member from an emerging / developing market. The team was mandated with redesigning Nestlé’s marketing processes, tools, systems and training approach which were subsequently impacted the 29,000 person global marketing community.

As Chief Strategy Officer at Cadre Economic Cities, the human capital division of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) he was mandated to design and deploy strategies that would impact 1.3 million job seekers over the next 15 years, Bassem and his colleagues developed several Public-Private-Partnerships in the Education, Placement and Productivity Improvement sectors.

When Bassem was General Manager - Marketing at Nakheel he completely revamped the marketing unit by adopting a three-pillared framework built around: people & capabilities; processes & systems; and individual accountability (line-of-sight between strategy and individual performance).Prior to that, Bassem worked for Nestlé as consumer marketing manager for the Middle East, launching and overseeing key corporate initiatives.

Bassem holds a MBA degree from McGill University in Canada. He is the driving force behind a social program, aimed at helping high-potential young adults in Nepal become globally productive citizens. He is a frequent speaker at conferences and corporate events.
